FAQ

Where do I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased at the door. The prices are set by the artists and vary, but most are around $10.

Will the venue(s) be accessible?

Our venues are wheelchair accessible unless otherwise noted, and it is our goal to keep all performances as accessible as possible.

Is there room in the budget to cover our travel as performers?

We do not currently have funds to offer travel stipends. We offer limited technical support, and all acts must set up and break down sets at the time of their performance.

I have a raunchy act I want to bring to the table. What are the parameters?

We welcome all types of acts. Per Louisville law, burlesque performers must keep genitals and nipples covered. The rest is up to you!

What kind of censorship are we dealing with?

We want everyone to have a safe space of expression. We support free speech. We don’t support hate speech.

Safe space policy

Louisville Fringe seeks to provide artists and audiences with safe spaces to create and interact with art. We have a zero-tolerance policy with regards to hate speech, sexual harassment, threatening behavior or advances, and any other action that Louisville Fringe believes constitutes a threat to the safety and well-being of our artists or guests. As such, Louisville Fringe reserves the right to remove or deny admission to any party that engages or has engaged in such behavior either before or during the festival.

We know that this is an incomplete policy. We also know that consent matters, that Black lives matter, and that brave artists need safe spaces. The conversation in the theatre about how to create those safe environments is ongoing and has become even more complex due to the debilitating effects of COVID-19.

Louisville Fringe believes the following are great jumping-off points and encourages everyone to read them and join the conversation:
